A reading format, without the page

PDFs preserve a page's appearance, but columns, running headers and tables do not always translate cleanly into spoken sentences. Doc2Audio extracts the text and adapts it for listening. Full detail keeps substantive content; balanced and concise versions focus the narration on the main points. AI adaptation can make mistakes, so keep the source for checking quotations, figures and important conclusions.

Text-based PDFs work best

A PDF needs selectable, extractable text. Image-only scans and password-protected files are not supported. Optical character recognition is not included. Multi-column research papers can produce an unexpected reading order, and visual charts are not narrated as images. A short preview helps you assess the extracted passage before a full conversion.

MP3 or a different audio format

MP3 offers a practical balance of file size and player compatibility. WAV is useful when you plan to edit the narration, but it produces larger files. AAC, FLAC and Opus are also available. A lossless export preserves the generated audio; it does not add detail to the original document.
